Why Algebra MattersMath literacy is the key to success in contemporary life for two main reasons.
(1) Algebra I is the gatekeeper course for ALL upper level math classes, in high school and beyond. In order to graduate from high school, students MUST succeed in Algebra I. High school graduates have access to many more opportunities for higher-paying jobs than do non-graduates, and college graduates have even more access. (2) Algebra I is the basis for symbolic reasoning. In 2017-2018, computers and technology form the fastest growing fields. These fields rely on symbolic reasoning. Further, symbolic reasoning expands critical thinking and problem solving skills, which are essential for success in all areas of life. |

M 8/21: We tracked our Module 0 Quiz grade and analyzed the data. We took a pre-test for the next few chapters. We started IXL Math --> Algebra 1 --> G1.
F 8/18: We took our Module 0 Quiz. We worked on finishing any missing homework and IXL. We did number talks. **If you were absent, you must make up the quiz. You are exempt from number talks Path to Success.**
Th 8/17: We worked on Study Guide for Module 0 Quiz. We logged into IXL. We went to Math --> 8th grade --> A1, C1, C3, C6, C7. HW: Finish Order of Ops worksheet. Finish Study Guide if you want extra credit on the quiz. Finish IXL if you didn't in class.
